Full Moon Musings and Reflections on Eclipse Season
How have you all been fairing through eclipse season? Anyone else have any sudden changes happen in their lives? Doors closing, new openings, or life all together hitting the reset button? Know that this is normal and that you’re not alone. While eclipse season can feel VERY dramatic, drastic, and maybe even a little unfair, know that it is ALL in service of your greater good, higher purpose, and all the juicy possibility of what has yet to come.
If you’re not familiar with the goddess Kali, you may be after eclipse season. Kali is the goddess of destruction and often times gets a bad rep, but this badass babe is my home girl and actually is just the embodiment of a real fierce flavor of motherly love. Kali swoops into our lives with a force, stripping away all that is not serving us. While it can feel like our reality is crumbling to pieces when she steps into our lives, all this “destruction” is an act of love. Kali takes away what we no longer need, what is illusion, what is holding us back, and just like a phoenix rises from the ashes, so do we. What is left over after all this rough and tumble loving is our Essence, the core of who we are, and the parts and pieces of us needed to helps us move forward and more deeply on to our purpose. Everything Kali does is out of love, after all she is born from the third eye of THE divine mother, Durga (another fierce babely, goddess).
There is something that can be found in connecting to the divine LOVE that is at the core of eclipse season and Kali’s handiwork. In befriending change, embracing the unknown, and finding joy in the total reset that our lives often unexpectedly take, we create an opportunity to juice up our power centers and connection to the divine. And sometimes to do this work and find our power, we need to be a little tender, to take care of our human parts, to listen to our fear and feed it, to nourish ourselves deeply, all in service of connecting to our brilliance, our ferocity, our Kali, our Durga, our divine feminine, our Essence.
If you're feeling shaken, stirred, and a little uncertain fear not, spring is almost here babes! We’ve almost made it through eclipse season and all that stripping away, all the change, all seeds that we’ve planted, plans we’ve made, dreams we’ve been holding on to are just about primed up and ready to go!
So please please go take care of your precious hearts, bodies, and minds. Go sit in circle, celebrate the lengthening of the days, create a ritual to recharge and reconnect. Get outside, enjoy the spring air, soak in the possibility off all that is yet to come, and find a little ease. Oh and go plant some seeds and get your hands dirty, literally, I highly recommend it!
I love you all tremendously. Know that you're all brilliant beings!
For those of you who want to learn more about eclipse season, recharge, and get more connected with the moon, come join me for a Full Moon Circle this Saturday from 6-8pm at Medicine Space (89 5th Ave, New York, NY): http://www.caityflanagan.com/events/2016/3/10/f
This month’s circle will focus on illumination, being with our lightness and darkness, and reconnecting to the parts of us that are foundational to who we are.
Also our amazing sister Eva will be sharing with us some sacred knowledge that she has gathered and immersed herself in through her goddess training this month. We’ll be learning about the moon cycle, as well as, our cycles as women.
And of course there will be juicy meditation, space to recharge, and I’ll reiki all you beautiful beings up before you head out into the world.
I love you all tremendously,
